In preparing children for the Sacrament of Confirmation, parents must ensure their children are adequately prepared to receive it. St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church supports parents in this critical task. It also takes this responsibility seriously and has established programs to prepare these young parishioners for this Sacrament. 

The primary reasons for a two-year catechesis period before confirmation are to facilitate deeper formation in faith, to foster psychological and spiritual maturity, and to ensure readiness to live as a mature Christian. This extended period enables candidates to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.  

Our Pre-Journey to Confirmation Program is a vital step in your child's faith journey, strengthening their relationship with Christ and the Church through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. 

The Alive in Christ Adolescent Faith Guidebooks, published by Our Sunday Visitor, are excellent resources for engaging young people with key teachings on Jesus Christ and Revelation. Special features included in every lesson include:

• Called to Proclaim encourages students to share their faith about God with others.

The program incorporates the most trusted research on how young people learn, communicate, and grow in their faith. Its content is comprehensive and developmentally appropriate, and it allows for very flexible scheduling. Additionally, it conforms to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
